The Final Dick Lugar Run
Local race organizer Tuxedo Brothers latest e-newsletter is stating that the 34th Annual Dick Lugar Community Run and Walk on the campus of Butler University will be the final installment of this historic event. No further explanation was given as to the reason for ending this annual community event, but it is likely related to the Senator’s defeat in the Indiana Republican primary.
I have personally run this race on at least 3 occasions and have always enjoyed the fall weather, the scenic campus route and seeing Dick Lugar running the event. As always, Tuxedo Brothers runs a great race and this event will surely be missed by local runners and the Butler University community.
The final Dick Lugar run/walk event will be Saturday, September 15th.
